Professional Coaching

In addition to offering traditional psychotherapy, Kathy is now trained in professional coaching using the Co-Active Coaching model.

Many people seek out coaching because they want things to be different, are looking for change or have important goals to reach. People come to coaching in order to be more successful in their personal lives or more satisfied at work or to develop new skills to help navigate life’s challenges. Sometime people want more in life – more fulfillment, more peace of mind, better health; or because they want less – less stress or less confusion. Coaching provides a different process for accomplishing life’s desires: by defining what is truly important, eliciting values and engaging in empowered relationships.

Coaching is an alliance formed using these beliefs as the cornerstone of the work:

People are Naturally Creative, Resourceful and Whole

You are capable of finding answers, of choosing, of taking action,  of recovering when things don’t go as planned, and especially of learning.

In a coaching relationship, I take a stand on believing you are naturally creative and resourceful and as such, I am a champion on your behalf. I am here as a coach to remind you of your true, natural self who is capable, enterprising and uniquely empowered to carry out the changes you want in your life.

Focus on the Whole Person

As a coach, I emphasize the emotional aspects of your being as well as the body, mind and spirit. As a coach, my role is to help you identify values, strengths and dreams; and help you create realistic actions plans for living in your values so you can achieve your dreams using your strengths.

Dance in this Moment

As a coach, my role is to be present to what is happening right now. In my coaching role, I connect with you in a relationship built on trust. I respond collaboratively and creatively with you as you tune into the the vulnerable, willing state of learning and development within yourself. We dance together forward into your future focusing on what is most important and vital to you.

Evoke Transformation

In the coaching relationship, we want to tap into your deep yearning for the fullest potential life you can experience. As a coach, I see you gaining or recovering the inner strength and resourcefulness to evolve, grow, and expand in many areas of your life. Drawing on your inner conviction, I help you realize the shift from the satisfaction of reaching the immediate goals to the breakthrough awareness of your expanded capacity to reach your potential. You choose the topic, action and results you want and I take a stand for achieving them by providing accountability and encouragement every step of the way.

Unlike psychotherapy, the coaching relationship recognizes that making changes takes time and that achieving one’s goals doesn’t happen in one session. As such, we negotiate an on-going coaching partnership of a longer duration, at a minimum of three months and ideally six months or more, with regular weekly meetings by phone, Skype or in-person. We agree in advance to a single monthly cost and stick to a regular schedule that is time bound.  Budgeting is easy as we agree on a monthly rate that can be billed at the beginning of the month or you can choose to pay for a period of time, say three months, up front, as a commitment to yourself.

On an introductory basis, I am offering these services for an affordable rate. I structure a monthly or quarterly payment with your budget in mind. Although we customize our solution to fit your individual needs, I recommend we meet weekly for 30 minute phone sessions for a total of $100 per month for three months. Or if you prefer we can meet in person twice a month for one hour sessions at that same cost.
